Creative Storage in the Attic
If you’ve ever been in a space with a sloping roof, you know how difficult it can be to optimize every square meter. Luis solved this problem in an innovative way by cleverly exploiting the space available in his attic, a room under the eaves with a characteristic mansard roof. The result is not only practical, but also aesthetically pleasing.
Custom made with MDF wood
The storage solution was completely custom-made using 38mm Primed MDF and 30mm Primed MDF, ordered and carefully cut to size by OPMAATZAGEN.nl. These types of wood are ideal for achieving a smooth and clean finish, allowing the project to blend in harmoniously with the existing architecture of the attic.
Construction of the Project
The structure is composed of a series of cleverly arranged panels firmly fixed against the inclined walls of the attic. By optimizing the empty spaces in between, Luis created practical storage spaces that remain hidden behind the elegant MDF panels. The white MDF contrasts beautifully with the rustic background of the wooden beams, creating an ambiance that is both modern and calming.
A Harmonious Integration in the Attic
The attic has been transformed into a space that is both functional and aesthetic. By cleverly using the sloping roofs, this storage solution offers maximum space without encroaching on the floor space. The result is not only more storage, but also a feeling of order and serenity in a space that is often difficult to use.
DIY Style: Modern and Rustic
The style of the project can be described as a fusion between modern and rustic. The use of clean white MDF contrasts nicely with the natural wooden beams and brick walls, giving a unique and authentic charm.
The Benefits of Homemade
Building your own storage solutions offers unmatched flexibility. Luis had the freedom to use exact dimensions that perfectly fit the unique dimensions of his attic. Plus, building your own allows you to choose your materials, in this case high-quality Primed MDF, for a durable and stylish finish.
Advantages of 38mm and 30mm Primed MDF
Choosing 38mm Primed MDF offers several advantages. These thicker panels give the structure a robust and solid appearance, essential for a project of this scale.
With 30mm Primed MDF, detailed finishes are easier to achieve. These thinner panels offer great design flexibility and allow for precise adjustments, contributing to the neat finish of this project.
