Description of Ivonne
A beautiful sideboard cannot be missed in our showroom. I measured the dividing wall and deducted some slack because: equal is unequal. Of course, you don't want the wall to be a little crooked (as is the case in most houses and spaces) and this is emphasized by the cupboard that is right against it all the way to the end. I therefore kept a 10.0 cm clearance. I wanted to show an example of painting with lime paint. You apply this paint with a block brush and it gives a nice effect to the cupboard. But that's why I kept the layout calm and practical: two compartments with double doors next to each other and very practical 3 shelves underneath each other. Overall, I thought it was a nice fit to choose the 38mm thickness of the shelves.
How I made this project
I built the cabinet in primed MDF. That is very useful and saves a lot of time from having to prime the material yourself first! Subsequently, a special primer is still required for the lime paint. I applied this to all parts and placed the shelves and doors separately for easy access. I then mounted the doors to allow the strokes of the brush with the lime paint to continue nicely. I wouldn't do this again, because the paint will get between the cracks and it won't look nice! Fortunately I was able to repair it. Next time I would definitely lay out the doors separately and treat them with lime paint and sealer and then place them in the cupboard. To finish the cabinet completely, I finally applied a layer of sealer. This makes the vulnerable lime paint more resistant to fingerprints. I also drilled holes in the doors and picked out nice handles to put on them. This way you don't have to push the doors open with your fingers, which is better for the lime paint. I used LAB Chalk in the color TOUT no. 530 for the entire project and I think it turned out very well in the end!
